A Holistic Approach to Sciatica

Curing a medical condition is always a challenge for those who don’t have the adequate training and trying to self medicate is never a solution. Most of us prefer to cut corners and resort to what seems to be the quickest, less expensive, hence more convenient alternative and hope for the best. If we experience back pain, we can do nothing more than to use creams and painkillers and in the best-case scenario asked a professional masseuse to work on our back.

None of this qualifies for a sciatica treatment, and that’s why the results are rarely coming close to the high expectations. By the time we go to the hospital, the pain is already intense and in some case even debilitating, but it is still not too late to be cured. The good thing about sciatica if there is any, is that although the pain is intense, there is rarely permanent damage inflicted to the nerve. It will swell and impair your movement while causing a lot of pain, but after adequate sciatica treatment it will get better.

A doctor will perform an initial investigation to determine which exactly is the source of your suffering and then work on two directions. First of all, he will try to make the pain go away, so that the sciatica treatment will not only be effective, but also more pleasant. Then he will address the underlying causes that led to this affliction, so that once you are declared cured, there will be no relapses.
