The Many Ways We Waste our Time

Don’t you find yourself sometimes asking, “where did the time go?” – I know I do. We drag ourselves to work on a Monday morning, and before we know it, it’s weekend and after another blink it’s Monday all over again. We often wonder how quickly the weekend passed by, how the workweek just went, and we feel we have not achieved the things we have set out to do. Well, look closely. You may not be aware of the many ways times are wasted.

wasted timeStart in the morning when you are choosing what you’d like to wear to work. From the blouse to the jacket to the pants to the shoes, to the bags to the accessories, how long does it take you to put your outfit altogether? Research says women spend about sixty-one minutes just going over her closet. Wow, that’s an hour a week? And that’s if you’re quite decisive. This is probably the reason why they invented uniforms.

I think I already made a point here – there are little activities during the day that we usually think are harmless, but if you are looking for ways to have more time to do something else, you know where to look. I can’t leave this topic without touching on the biggest activity we all engage in and that consumes the most time from all of us: the internet.

Who among us doesn’t log on to Facebook the minute we get home? How many minutes a day has we stayed within the confines of these social networking sites? Not to mention Youtube, Twitter and other sites?

So now we know which activities to cut back on if we need more time.
