Few years ago when I decided to join the blogosphere, I made it private and simply a spot to release some air as means of relief. It was devoid of images, baking adventures, not even kids’ stories were featured. I just rolled out words after words. I probably wouldn’t have …if only I had information of what it takes to keep up a blog.
But… Just read on.
Blogging – Rat Race is the Best Description.
The competition is so fierce – the bloggers are all striving for the highest comments, best page hits, most followers, most features… and all that.
It is indeed a rat race to keep up these stats. Any dent on the stats would turn even the most renowned blogger off. Well, your worth before people is wrapped up in those stats and a revisit by them depends largely on those stats as well. So, tell me, is blogging really easy?
Don’t Think It’s Free Either.
Although you can get some free blog domains, others are not free. Perhaps you are yet to pay for a background, pay for a contest hosting from your own purse and embark on your blog’s features update – that’s why you are still thinking blogging is free. Furthermore, in a bid to keep your blog the best it can be. You would need to use the fancy linky system, join a paid community membership and embark on other stuffs that would require expenses just to ensure you strive to stay on top.
Blogging is Time Consuming.
You spend a lot of time creating and publishing your own blog daily; that’s not all, you also have to devote extra time following and commenting on the blogs of your fellow bloggers – of course, you must do this to build up reasonable readership in blogging.
Mommy blogging – the ultimate conundrum; while trying to put their stories and that of their kids together, mommy bloggers end up being culprits of their blogging subjects – spending quality time with the kids.
It’s Overly Overwhelming.
Overwhelming is an exaggeration – it is so burdensome, especially when you are yet to get encouraging readership.
Hence a vindication to this query:
Only if I had thought of the stretch of time and effort which usually involves in maintaining the status quo of a blog, I may have …
… tried it once again. In my experience the interactions, defining personality, the particular knowledge I’ve experienced being a blogger is utterly invaluable.
